Cora Cameron works across concert music, theatre, dance, and film with parallel practices in songwriting and poetry. Her practice combines acoustic composition, electroacoustic experimentation, improvisation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

She completed an honours degree in musicology at Memorial University, where she received a scholarship for academic and artistic achievement, and later studied composition at Dalhousie University. Her compositions and collaborative works have been presented across Atlantic Canada through festivals, concert performances, and interdisciplinary artistic initiatives. She is also an alumna of the New York–based Bespoken Fellowship for women and queer-identifying artists.

A multi-instrumentalist specializing in voice and cello, Cameron’s background includes training in both musical theatre and jazz voice, contributing to a stylistically fluid approach to performance and composition. Her work spans acoustic ensemble writing, electroacoustic experimentation, improvisation, sound design, and collaborative creation.

She is particularly interested in the relationship between sound, text, and movement, often developing interdisciplinary projects with artists across fields. Influenced by literature, philosophy, and musical traditions encountered through travel and study, her work explores narrative, memory, and perception through minimalism, surrealism, and poetic storytelling.

Alongside her independent practice, Cameron is increasingly focused on directing interdisciplinary and ensemble-based performance work, creating immersive spaces for connection where sound becomes a site of reflection, presence, and shared experience.
